Clever, curious and remarkably adaptable, foxes have found a place in landscapes all around the world - including Australia.

European red foxes were introduced to Australia by people, yet today they are often viewed simply as pests or invasive animals. Their impact on native wildlife is an important conservation issue, but so is the welfare of the individual animals caught in the middle.

For us, caring about Australia's native wildlife doesn't have to mean abandoning compassion for introduced species. Every animal is still a living, feeling individual deserving of humane treatment.

Why they need our help

A Complicated Conservation Story

Foxes present one of the more difficult conversations in Australian wildlife conservation.

Introduced species can have serious impacts on native ecosystems, but the animals themselves did not choose to be brought here. Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue believes that conservation can protect native wildlife while also seeking more compassionate, science-based ways of managing introduced animals.

It's an approach that recognises something important: protecting one life shouldn't require us to stop caring about another.

Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue

A portion of proceeds from our Fox Collection supports Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue.

Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue is a small, volunteer-run Australian charity that rescues and cares for animals who can easily fall through the gaps between domestic animal rescue and wildlife services - with a particular focus on foxes, dingoes and other animals commonly labelled as pest or invasive species.

Since 2012, SFDR has helped rescue more than 500 animals. Its 100-acre bush sanctuary provides a safe home for animals in its care, including permanent sanctuary for those who cannot be rehomed or released.

Alongside rescue and sanctuary, SFDR works in education and advocacy, provides fox mange assistance, and supports research and wildlife organisations with fox samples and data. Its work promotes a more compassionate approach to animal welfare and conservation.
