Pin Seconds Grading

Pin seconds have minor imperfections and are grouped into 3 grades based on the defect/s (refer to image for examples):

  • B Grade: Very minor imperfections that are barely visible or not noticable. May include (but not limited to) light scratches on metal, slightly underfilled enamel, tiny speck of dust. Could easily pass as a first grade pin. (Best value in my opinion)
  • C Grade: Minor defects that may be noticed upon closer inspection. May include (but not limited to) specks of dust in enamel, slight offsets in screenprinting, etc.
  • D Grade: Minor defects and visible flaws, however often are not glaringly obvious. These may include:
    - Chips and/or shallow cracks
    - Dark specks or dust
    - Missing or discoloured enamel
    - Overfilled or underfilled enamel
    - Noticable offsets or smudged screenprinting
    - Scratches in enamel or metal, or unpolished metal
  • M Grade: Are not technically fault however the entire batch was made with incorrect design elements such as wrong colours

PIN SECONDS
Pin seconds have minor imperfections and are grouped into 3 classes based on the defect/s (refer to image for examples):

• B GRADE: Imperfections which are barely noticeable, typically a tiny speck of dust. Could easily pass as a first grade pin. (Best value in my opinion)

• C GRADE: Very minor defects such as a tiny mark. Could pass as a first grade pin in many cases.

• D GRADE: I would define these as actual "seconds". These pins have minor imperfections, apparent once you've spotted them although often not glaringly obvious. These may include:
- Chips and/or shallow cracks
- Dark specks or dust
- Missing or discoloured enamel
- Overfilled or underfilled colours

• M GRADE: Misprinted the entire batch. Cat’s head is missing the screen printed details so the whole head is oranger/ginger in colour. Discounted at 75% off
