Reecie's Story

Reecie’s story started in the unlikeliest of places—a worksite, where he was found as a tiny kitten with back legs that just wouldn’t work. After a vet visit, x-rays confirmed that Reecie’s paralysis was congenital. His legs simply weren’t made for walking. But did that stop him? Absolutely not! 🏄♂️

Instead of letting his diagnosis define him, Reecie dove headfirst (sometimes literally!) into life, showing everyone that mobility challenges are just another way to move through the world.

After his rescue, Reecie was fostered by Wilma and later adopted by AJ. Now, he lives in sunny California with six other special needs siblings. Their home is full of laughter, snuggles, and a whole lot of inspiration. As his family puts it, “There’s so much more love in the house, and we’ve learned not to sweat the small stuff.”

What Makes Reecie So Special?

• His Temperament: Reecie has a famously sweet and happy personality. Whether you meet him in person or online, it’s impossible not to fall in love. He’s a gentle reminder to go with the flow and cherish the moment.
• His Resilience: Reecie’s left leg is held on by muscle and a few ligaments—no hip socket! Watch him in videos and you’ll see that leg flopping all over, but it never slows him down.
• His Advocacy: Reecie is living proof that special needs animals can live happy, fulfilling lives. He’s changed hearts and minds, showing the world that every life is precious.
